There are several bit heads in the picture. They are all burrs. This is the general name of this kind of cutter heads.
The biggest difference between rotary burrs and other cutting heads is that it has many blades, which is multi-blade. And we usually use a double-edged blade. It is precisely because of its multi-blade, so the blade will not jump randomly when used. When making hardwood, such as ebony, sourwood, the burr is also a very good choice. It should be noted that the file is also divided into a single groove and a double groove. The double groove is more stable than the single tank.
In daily work, if there is sawdust in the burrs, the grinding head can be brushed with a steel wire wheel. In this way, the sawdust stuck in the cutting edge can be easily removed, and the blade will become much sharper.
In the usual wood carving, the burr is mainly used to polish. Hang up the extra scar. It’s a bit like a scraper. It’s not impossible to mold with a file, but it’s too slow to cut material. Therefore, it is still not recommended to use burr to drill an embryo.
